  • Q How to repair fiber breakage or abnormal loss?

    A
    Positioning: Use OTDR to find the breakage or high loss point.
    Cutting: Cut 1-2 meters on both sides of the break and prepare a flat end face.
    Fusion: Repair with a fusion splicer to ensure that the loss is ≤0.05dB.
    Protection: Reinforce the fusion point and do a good job of waterproofing.
    Testing: Re-test the link loss and confirm that it meets the standard.

  • Q What should I do if the bending radius of the indoor optical cable is too small and causes attenuation?

    A
    Rewiring: Ensure that the bending radius is ≥10 times the outer diameter of the optical cable (such as 3mm optical cable requires ≥30mm).
    Use bend-resistant optical fiber: such as G.657 standard optical cable.
    Test verification: Use a light source and an optical power meter to detect attenuation ≤0.2dB.

  • Q How to deal with aging and cracking of the outer sheath of the outdoor optical cable?

    A
    Temporary repair: Clean the crack, wrap it with waterproof tape and install a heat shrink tube.
    Complete solution: Cut off the aging section, replace the same type of optical cable and weld it.
    Prevention: Regularly check the sealing of the optical cable well and the joint box, and apply UV protective agent.

  • Q How to troubleshoot the high loss of the optical fiber connector?

    A
    Clean the end face: Wipe it in a single direction with dust-free paper dipped in alcohol.
    Replug: Make sure the connector buckle is firm to avoid angle deviation.
    Replace the connector: If the loss is still high, use a pre-polished connector.

  • Q How to solve the signal conflict after adding a wavelength to the WDM system?

    Check the interval: Make sure that the interval between the new wavelength and the adjacent channel is ≥50GHz.
