The Passive Mini Node with Filter Optical Receiver is a compact, unpowered device that integrates a passive optical splitter with a wavelength-selective filter and a demodulating receiver. Its core function is to passively distribute and filter specific downstream wavelengths while receiving and converting upstream optical signals into electrical ones. Key advantages include high reliability due to its passive design, reduced power consumption, simplified network architecture, and enhanced security through wavelength isolation. It is primarily deployed in Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks, particularly in Passive Optical Networks (PONs) like GPON or XGS-PON, for efficient subscriber connection and wavelength management in last-mile distribution points.
